What Is a Wafer Type Check Valve?
A wafer type check valve (also referred to as a check valve wafer type or check valve type wafer) is a compact non-return valve designed to be clamped between two pipeline flanges using through-bolts — without requiring bolt holes in the valve body itself.
The valve operates automatically: forward flow pressure opens the disc(s), and when flow stops or reverses, spring force rapidly closes the discs — preventing backflow and eliminating water hammer. Its slim, disc-like profile makes it significantly lighter and more compact than traditional flanged check valves.
